Educational Program

A philosophy in learning is that a child will understand and comprehend a subject more if he/she has an actual 'hands-on' experience or memory to relate to the subject. Understanding this part of learning is what we base our teaching materials and our educational arm of our assembly program on as we reach out to the student.

Our personal belief is that math, science, history, health, reading and writing will come easier and with more enthusiasm if the student is excited about the tool that leads him to each of these subject matters.

One tool that we use is the art of story-telling. It is said that long ago the elders would sit in the evening and share their life adventures with the youth. This built self-esteem and pride in the child who used that element to forge their learning experiences in life.

A teacher only has the ability to teach a child to learn. The learning part actually happens when the child wants to learn. He then has the tools available to do just that.

Our assembly program is a tool that ignites the desire to learn more. Our Free Study Guides and our Workbook that is new this year, applies the desire to learn in a constructive and defined way.

Through the student's interest in Alaska, dog sledding, the wilderness, etc., we take him/her on a walk through the various subjects. Math is applied in a practical way to survival and adventure in Alaska and on the wilderness trail. Applied reading is reached through our Comprehensive Reading Stratagem and our Suggested Reading Materials. The sciences are unlimited in their depth of reach within the Alaska framework . . . .etc.

These Educational Materials have been created by Debbie Ruzicka who has 21 years teaching experience and has, also, designed all the Study Guides that are now offered by the MushHusky Assembly Program.

We understand that we are simply a foundation block on a student's road to learning. Our goal is to be a helper to the teachers and parents who guards the student and guides the way.

We thank you that we have had an opportunity to share in this learning experience with you, the teacher and the student.
