The 5th - 6th Grade edition to the series is challenging! Our focus is to bring Alaska History (World War II in Alaska), Alaska Geography (mountains, oceans and rain forests) and Alaska Dogsledding (Iditarod Race) to the students in this workbook.
Math is heavily emphasized with a strong emphasis on fractions, long division, challenging multiplication and once again, a solid review of addition and subtraction.
Reading Comprehension is a large part of this workbook. Essays, theme papers, vocabulary and spelling are a part of the reading unit.
Health becomes more structured in this workbook as it is applied to the human body and the sled dog body.
Science is also more structured and detailed with a focus on the stars and the northern lights.
The Alaska Theme is woven into every lesson. We always keep in mind that learning is fun and the pages in this book meet that requirement.
